The Mohawk Valley Chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society will present a Vocal Harmony Show “Anything Goes! on Saturday, May 18th at 7:30PM at the First United Methodist Church in New Hartford. Tickets are $15 reserved, $12 general admission and $5 students and are available at the Chapter website at bhs-mv.org.

The headline quartet, ‘Round Midnight from New York City, is currently ranked 8th in the world heading into the Barbershop Harmony Society International Convention and Contest in Toronto. Other quartets appearing include Seneca Land representatives to the International Contest Bravo!, reigning Seneca Land District champions the Hurricane Boys, District finalist Full Circle and a Hamilton College quartet Continental Drift.

The concert will also feature the Mohawk Valley Chapter’s very own Upstate Harmonizers, which placed 25th in the world at the 2012 International Contest in Portland and will compete again in Toronto. As audiences have come to expect, the Mohawk Valley Chapter’s AA Plateau Champion New Horizons Chorus will anchor the show with two sets of their own. Appearing as a special guest is the Oneida High School Concert Choir.

Attendees to the show can register for a chance to win a door-prize and participate in both auctions and a raffle to help pay to send the Upstate Harmonizers to Toronto. Tickets are $15 reserved, $12 general admission and $5 students and are available at the Chapter website at http://bhs-mv.org, from any Chapter member, by calling 315-829-4199, or from the Chapter’s charitable partners: Boy Scouts of America, Revolutionary Trails Council; Presbyterian Homes and Services; Utica Symphony; Community Baptist Church of Millers Mills; and St. John the Evangelist Church, New Hartford. Charitable partners keep 50% of the proceeds from every ticket they sell to support their charitable missions. It is a small way for the Mohawk Valley Chapter to help other area nonprofits.

In addition to the concert, on May 22 @ 7:30 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church, 105 Genesee Street, New Hartford, the Chapter will host a special Guest Night to kick off its 2013 “Learn to Sing” free voice lesson program.
