ROCHESTER, N.Y. (AP) — A former employee of the Rochester emergency dispatch center who pleaded guilty to enticing a minor is heading to federal prison.

Thirty-four-year-old Jason Cortese was sentenced on Tuesday to more than 11 years behind bars and a decade of post-release supervision.

Prosecutors say the Greece man sent multiple sexually explicit chat messages to a 12-year-old girl in 2014 and also sent her pornographic photographs of nude children.

The conduct went on until authorities say a family member of the girl alerted police after seeing the contents of her phone. Investigators say Cortese was a family friend of the girl.

Authorities say Cortese told them he received child pornography from Megan McDonald. She pleaded guilty earlier this year to producing, distributing and possessing child pornography.
