BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) — A former Buffalo State student already serving time for a box-cutter attack on a fellow student has been sentenced to up to seven years in prison for his role in a credit card scam.

Prosecutors say 24-year-old Mohamed Kaba of Yonkers has been sentenced to 2 1/3-7 years on his guilty plea for forgery. The sentence will run concurrently with his six-year term for slashing another student in September 2015.

Acting Erie County District Attorney Michael Flaherty says Kaba and two other Buffalo State students from Yonkers admitted manufacturing dozens of forged credit and debit cards using stolen personal identification information. They used them for local and online purchases.

The co-defendants, 24-year-old Nkemjika Ogbuagu and 25-year-old Kelsey Dapaah, will be sentenced on March 10.
