Ex-Employee Arrested in Double Homicide at Chili’s in DeWitt

A former employee of the Chili's restaurant in DeWitt has been arrested and charged with murder and robbery following a double homicide at the eatery early Saturday morning.
William Wood Jr., 32, was taken into custody approximately 24 hours after the robbery and double homicide, which unfolded at around 1:00 a.m. Saturday, Syracuse.com reports.

Wood worked at the restaurant until about a year ago, Bilodeau said, and Wood knew both victims. That's why the suspect targeted that Chili's, Bilodeau said.

Chase Bilodeau is a Captain with the DeWitt Police Department.

The victims have been identified as Stephen Gudknecht and Kris Hicks.

A GoFundMe Page setup by a relative of Gudknecht says Chili's has offered to pay the funeral expenses for both victims, but the page is looking to raise money for Gudknecht's two children, 14 and 9.
