Excellus Blue Cross Blue Shield is issuing a last call for what they say is over a $1 million in unclaimed health insurance funds.

They say more than $10,000 people across New York State have forgotten about the checks that were issued in 2010, but never cashed.

If the funds aren't claimed by the end of August, state law requires health insurers to turn the money over to the State Comptroller.

"This is money that was paid for claims or refunded premiums," said Excellus Blue Cross Blue Shield Regional President Eve Van de Wal. "It belongs to our members and providers and we want to make sure they have one more chance to claim it."

To See if you're owed any of the funds you can visit to the Excellus Blue Cross Blue Shield website.
