The Utica City School District is offering town forums to discuss its proposed acceptance of the Extended Learning Time Grant.

Superintendent Bruce Karam spoke with WIBX this morning and said that the forums will take place at each of the five schools potentially affected by acceptance of the grant, which would mandate extension of the school day by approximately ninety minutes beginning with the 2015-2016 school year.

In order to ensure success of the program, Karam said that the district will not move forward unless a majority of all parties involved is on board with its implementation.

Forums are taking place at 6:30pm at the following dates and venues:

Donovan Middle School                Wednesday, September 24, 2014        Auditorium

Hughes Elementary School           Thursday, September 25, 2014           Auditorium
