Farmhand At Davis Farms Gored By Bull

Herkimer County, NY (WIBX) - A farmhand is lucky to be alive after being gored by a bull. The accident happened at Davis Farms in the Town of Russian in Herkimer County, when 26-year-old Luis M. Martinez was attempting to herd cows into a barn.

State police say Martinez was attacked and gored by a 3-year-old Holstein Bull. He was discovered by his employer about 15 minutes after the accident. Martinez is being treated at St. Elizabeth's Medical Center for fractured ribs, abdominal trauma and a possible collapsed lung. He's listed in stable condition.
