Fatal Accident in Verona

Verona, NY (WIBX) - A Canastota man is dead following a car-pedestrian accident in the Town of Verona, it happened just after 4-AM yesterday.

State Police say that 45-year-old Jimmy Rogers was walking along the southbound lane of Route 13 when he was struck and killed by a passing motorist. The investigation revealed that Rogers was a frequent walker along that stretch of roadway and at the time of the accident, it was dark and rainy. Authorities believe the accident was a result of pedestrian error.
