A fatal accident remains under investigation by the Oneida County Sheriff's Office this morning.According to a written release from Sheriff Rob Maciol deputies were called to the scene of a fatal motor vehicle accident that took place on Tuesday, March 1, 2016 at approximately 8:42pm.

The accident occurred on Stop Seven Road in the town of Westmoreland.

17-Year-old William S. Coleman of Clinton was driving a 2009 Acura TSX south when he is believed to have lost control of the vehicle.

Deputies say, "Coleman's vehicle entered a ditch, struck a tree, and then struck a concrete culvert before his vehicle overturned and came to rest on the shoulder of the roadway."

The teenager was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Clark Mills Fire Department, Town of Kirkland Police Department, and COVAC Ambulance all helped the Oneida County Sheriff's Office at the scene.

The investigation is continuing.  Anyone with information that may be helpful to investigators is asked to call the Oneida County Sheriff's Office.
