Fatal Motorcycle Accident in Madison County Town of Lenox

What may have begun as a weekend ride ended in disaster for two Canastota residents.

At approximately 9:42pm on Saturday, August 16, 2014 troopers were called to the scene of an accident eastbound in the Town of Lenox (at mile marker 264.4) on the New York State Thruway.

60-Year old John G. Didden, Jr. was driving a 2012 Harley Davidson motorcycle when he lost control.  The bike flipped on the shoulder of the road and both he and 60-year old Carol E. Didden were ejected.

John Didden was brought to Upstate Medical where, according to police, he was last listed in critical condition.

Carol Didden was pronounced dead at the scene.

Canastota Fire and Rescue and Greater Lenox Ambulance Services assisted New York State Police.  Authorities say the accident scene has been reconstructed and the investigation is continuing.
