PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. (AP) — Federal authorities say the last of 17 defendants has been sentenced for their involvement with two violent drug-trafficking operations that sold large quantities of cocaine and heroin in northern New York.

The U.S. Attorney's Office announced Thursday that 28-year-old Patrick "Problem" Lloyd of New York City was sentenced to 25 years in prison for dealing crack cocaine, heroin and cocaine in the Massena area, on the Canadian border 165 miles north of Albany.

Authorities say their investigation targeted drug rings run by Lloyd and Matthew Malu that brought narcotics north from New York City in 2012 and 2012. Officials say the two operations became bitter rivals and attacked and robbed one another.

Drug raids conducted in the Massena area three years ago this week hauled in weapons and large amounts of cocaine and heroin.
