Communities in Oneida, Herkimer and Madison Counties affected by the summer flooding are eligible for additional public assistance through FEMA.

The agency has extended the disaster period to run from June 26th through and including July 10th.

The disaster period previously ran only through July 4th.

Congressman Richard Hanna says local governments in designated counties will now be able to receive assistance for storm and flood damage costs incurred between July 4th and July 10th.
