Female Corrections Officer Assaulted At Mid State In Marcy

A female corrections officer at the Mid State Correctional Facility in Marcy was attacked by an inmate on Sunday.

The New York State Correctional Officers and Police Benevolent Association says the guard was assaulted inside one of the dorms at the medium-security prison.

The corrections officer was treated at a local hospital for cuts and bruises and then released.

A report of the incident was filed with State Police.

The inmate, 33-year old Chaz Robinson, a convicted rapist from Monroe County, has been transferred to Five Points Correctional Facility.
