Utica, NY (WIBX) - The fight to save jobs at the Mohawk Valley Psychiatric Center in West Utica continues.

Assemblyman Anthony Brindisi says he conducted a conference call last week with Larry Schwartz, a Senior Advisor to Governor Cuomo.

Brindisi says they discussed at length the cost to relocate patients from the Utica center to the Hutchings Psychiatric Center in Syracuse and other issues related to the closing of the inpatient wards.

Schwartz told Brindisi he would be reviewing the information he received with the Governor and his staff.

The Assemblyman says while there was no guarantee from Schwartz that the plan will be halted, he did say he would again review the estimated $19 million price tag to move patients from Utica to Syracuse.
