A fire that erupted just after 6 a.m. on Friday at the Pacemaker Steel building on Broad Street in Utica is still being investigated.

All Broad Street personnel and offices will now be relocated to the company headquarters at 501 Main Street. This consolidation to one building wasn't planned until February 2018, but the company has the infrastructure to move now.

Pacemaker continues to assess the damage to their Broad Street location, but is committed to continue operations without interruption. Initial reports indicate most inventory and equipment did not suffer any damage.

Company officials would like to thank all Utica Police and Fire personnel for their professional response to this incident. Chief Operating Officer for Pacemaker Rich Evans says, "We are humbled by the generosity of our customers. We are grateful for the incredible sense of community in the Mohawk Valley, and the quality relationships Pacemaker has established with its customers over the last seven decades."

No injuries were reported as a result of Friday's blaze.
