Fire Destroys 2 Buildings, Displaces About A Dozen Residents
PORT JERVIS, N.Y. (AP) — Investigators are trying to figure out what sparked a blaze that tore through two buildings in upstate New York, displacing about a dozen people.
The Times Herald-Record of Middletown reports (http://bit.ly/2e0xXMZ ) the fire broke out in Port Jervis in Orange County early Tuesday. The families living in one of the buildings were able to escape from their second- and third-story apartments.
Mayor Kelly Decker says there were no major injuries during the fire.
The Salvation Army is working with residents who lost their homes.
