SCARSDALE, N.Y. (AP) -€” Fire officials say the body found among the debris of a Westchester County home gutted by a fire this past weekend is likely that of the missing homeowner.

Scarsdale Fire Chief James Seymour says Dr. John Salimbene was inside the residence with his wife when the blaze broke out around 3:20 p.m. Sunday. His wife was rescued and hospitalized, but fire officials believe the doctor remained trapped somewhere in the house.

The body was discovered beneath some rubble in the center of the residence around 2:30 p.m. Monday. Heavy machinery was brought in to help clear debris to assist in the search.

The structure served as both the Salimbenes' home and a medical office for the doctor's practice.

Seymour says the cause of the fire remains unclear at this time.
