Flags on all city buildings in Rome will be flown at half-staff today and tomorrow in honor of former Oneida County Executive Jack Plumley.

Plumley, who died last week at the age of 87, served as County Executive from 1983 to 1991.

Rome Mayor Jacqueline Izzo says the city owes Plumley a great debt of gratitude for his tireless championing of a second Mohawk Valley Community College campus in Rome.

Just last month, Plumley was on hand for the unveiling of the newly renovated and expanded John D Plumley Complex at the MVCC Rome campus.

Flags at all Oneida County buildings are also flying at half-staff this week.
