The National Weather Service says there is a possibility of more flash flooding in the region today.

Another round of storms has been predicted for the area and locations that already suffered damage from the weekend storms are being looked at for the potential of being further compromised.

A flash flood watch is in effect until 2 p.m. for the Southern Tier and Central New York including Broome, Chenango,  Cortland and Tioga Counties.

Residents are advised to keep up on weather conditions and if flooding occurs on local roads, they should never drive through those areas.

The American Red Cross says shelters and reception centers it opened in Tompkins, Tioga and Schuyler Counties Sunday night are now closed but the group continues to work with families affected by flooding over the weekend.

Seven people were sheltered at the Spencer/Van Etten School, a dozen in the Town of Newfield and two reception centers were operating in Schuyler County.

The Red Cross says it is standing by if continued unsettled weather results in more emergency situations.
