GAINESVILLE, Fla. (AP) — Florida freshman quarterback Treon Harris has been suspended while he is being investigated for sexual assault.

The school says Harris is accused of sexually assaulting a female student early Sunday — hours after Harris helped Florida rally to beat Tennessee 10-9 in Knoxville — in a residence hall on campus.

The University Police Department is investigating the incident and working with the Gainesville Police Department to assist with collection and analysis of forensic evidence.

Florida President Bernie Machen says, "We have no tolerance for sexual assault on our campus. ... We must strive to protect all of our students from sexual harassment and assault, and do everything in our power to promote a safe learning environment."

The 5-foot-11, 190-pound Harris is from Miami and has been suspended from team activities.
