Albany, NY (WIBX) - The flu is now widespread in New York.

State health experts say cases of the virus have been reported in 47 counties and all of New York City.

The number of confirmed cases in Oneida County has topped 1,000.

Doctors say the pace of infections is picking up and will likely increase during the holidays.

Officials say this year's flu strains are matched well with this year's vaccine and urge people of all ages to get vaccinated.

The state health department says vaccine supplies are plentiful and inoculations are available in a variety of locations, including pharmacies and walk-in clinics.
