The Food Bank of Central New York will visit West Utica with their mobile food pantry this Thursday.

Lynn Hy of the Food Bank said they are bringing the mobile pantry to West Utica because residents there have no major supermarket within 1 mile, and many have limited access to vehicles.

Residents can stop by to pick up nutritious groceries like produce, veggies, fruit, lean protein and low-fat dairy items.

Earlier this year, the Food Bank of CNY debuted the mobile pantry where they handed out over 3,500 lbs of food to 79 people representing households of more than 300.

The distribution starts at 3:30 Thursday in the Boilermaker parking lot, and Hy says they do not turn anyone away that is in serious need.
