A charity football game is being held to benefit the children of a local firefighter.

Tim Brower died of a heart attack on May 2nd battling a fire at his own home in Sauquoit and now friends have organized the game to raise money for his young children.

Facebook page:

On May 2nd, 2015 Tim Brower passed away suddenly as a result of Heart Arrhythmia at the age of 38 years old. Tim was husband to Kristy Johnson-Brower and father to Willow (2 years old) and Kayden (5 years old). On Saturday June 27th, 6:30pm at Saquoit Valley High School, we will be hosting a football game to raise money for his Children's future. It will feature the 2 teams where Tim started (2001) and ended (2012) his Amateur Football Career. The Mohawk Valley Vikings (1999-2007) versus your very own Utica Yard Dawgs (2012-present). Tickets for this game are $5 for ages 13 and up. Free Admission for 12 and younger. We will be having gift raffles, 50-50 drawing, and a concession stand. We pulled the Vikings out of retirement for this one game. Experience vs. Speed, Youth vs. freakish old man strength.....who will win? We are actively seeking donations. So please reach out to us, contact Dan Herrman at 315-725-9029, or just click on the link below. A special thank you to UNO Pizzeria and Grill for big donation today. We really appreciate it. We hope to see you all there.
