Dearborn, MI (WIBX) - The Ford Motor Company is recalling more than eight thousand 2013 Escape SUVs because of carpeting flaws that may interfere with braking.

Ford says that it will be contacting owners beginning July 23, 2012 via mail to schedule a replacement of the carpeting.  However, if you choose not to wait for notification by mail owners can contact their dealers.  Ford says that it has not received any reports of injuries because of the mispositioned carpets.

Affected vehicles were built at the Louisville Assembly Plant between March 8, 2012 and June 7, 2012.
