The National Weather Service in Binghamton says the Twin Tiers could be in store for some unsettled weather, including thunderstorms May 10-11.

Forecasters say a cold front will push through the area by mid-day Thursday  and develop scattered thunderstorms. A few of these storms could become strong enough to produce damaging winds. The best chance of any severe weather would be along and east of the I-81 corridor.

Motorists can expect reduced visibility and possible pooling of water on roadways, but no major issues are anticipated.

Storms are expected to be possible through most of the evening with improving conditions after midnight.

The Storm Prediction Center has placed much of eastern New York and northeast Pennsylvania in a slight risk area for severe thunderstorms.
