While the automobile versions can travel as fast as three or four hundred of them, it only took two to prove that men cannot outrun the mustang.

Two recently bought from a farm in Nevada broke through their new pen in Lockport, New York on Friday, and participated in their own version of the Kentucky Derby.

In a written release New York State Police say they received a call at approximately 8:00am on May 1, 2015 that the horses had gotten loose and were on the run, headed north toward a field on Rapids Road, east of Transit Road.

It ended up taking several hours.  However, with the help of local residents and the Niagara County SPCA, troopers say they were able to capture the mustangs and return them to their home.
