A White House adviser is being named by President Obama to oversee the government's response to the Ebola crisis.

Ronald A. Klain, Vice President Joe Biden's former chief of staff, will serve as the nation's "drug czar."

Klain, a Harvard graduate who left Biden's office during the first Obama administration, is an attorney who worked under Attorney General Janet Reno and also served as Vice President Al Gore's chief of staff.

In his new role Klain will report jointly to National Security Adviser Susan Rice and Homeland Securtity and Counterterrorism Adviser Lisa Monaco.Klain was famously portrayed by actor Kevin Spacey in the HBO film "Recount," about the 2000 presidential election in which Democrat Al Gore lost to Republican George W. Bush.
