Former Employee Allegedly Steals Company Car, Checks from Lockport Company

A man is in custody after being charged with stealing the keys to a company vehicle, some checks, and then allegedly using those keys to drive off sometime over the weekend.

New York State Police say the vehicle was reported stolen from Allegheny Services Incorporated located at 5638 Old Saunders Settlement Road in Lockport on Sunday, May 17, 2015.

52-Year-old John R. Power is a former employee of the company.  Police say Power is accused of stealing the vehicle at some point last weekend.  He is now facing the following charges:

• forgery (in the second degree, a felony)
• possession of a forged instrumemt (in the second degree, a felony)
• criminal trespassing (in the third degree, a misdemeanor)
• unauthorized use of a vehicle (misdemeanor)
• petit larceny (two counts, misdemeanors)
