Former Lost Boy Of Sudan To Speak At New Hartford HS
New Hartford, NY (WIBX) – One of the former Lost Boys of Sudan will give a presentation titled, Power of Hope, this evening at 7:00, in the New Hartford Senior High School Auditorium. Gabriel Bol Deng is a teacher and social and political activist. He’s also the founder of the non-profit organization, HOPE for Ariang. Deng’s talk will center on the work of his foundation that is currently working to make education more accessible to the people of his village in the newly formed Republic of South Sudan.
In addition to hearing Deng’s story of survival, the public will also hear about the progress being made in his village, like the opening of the Ariang Primary School. The free event is open to the public. Donations are encouraged and organizers say the money is to support the new school. The event is presented by E.R. Hughes Elementary PTA in New Hartford.
