A former officer with the Niagara Falls Police Department is receving a conditional discharge after pleading guilty to an assault charge in 2015.James Conte must pay a $250 fine and perform fifty hours of community service following a road rage incident in which he was involved in September.

Conte pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor assault charge after he hit a man in the head with a motorcycle helmet during an argument that turned physical between the two.
