Rob Esche might be an owner of an AHL Hockey team now (Utica Comets - Vancouver); but, in his former life he was a goalie, and that makes him a bit of an expert on two levels when it comes to the upcoming Olympic games in Sochi, Russia.

Esche was a member of the 2006 U.S. Olympic Men's Hockey Team in Turin and he also played in Russia, in the KHL from 2008 until 2011.   The 36-year-old originally from Whitesboro, spoke Wednesday on First News with Keeler in the Morning on WIBX about the upcoming Winter games.

"It's an amazing experience in that Olympic Village," Esche said of his time in Turin.

The upcoming Olympics have been burdened with security concerns after multiple terrorist threats were made over the last several days.  The games are set to open on February 7th.
