Former Utica Mayor Tim Julian has announced he's seeking political office once again.

Julian announced Monday his intentions to run for the 19th legislative district seat on the Oneida County Board of Legislators.

That seat is currently held by Ed Welsh who announced last month that he would not seek re-election.

Julian is a life-long Utican who served as Mayor from 2000-2007. He is also a business owner in Utica.

Julian says, "I feel my business experience can be an asset to the board. Many times decisions such as raising taxes or fees are done with no consideration to how people will be effected."

There are many priorities Julian has including Term Limits for Legislators, reducing Oneida County sales tax, and a viable reuse plan for St. Elizabeth's for when, and if, the hospital gets relocated.
