Former Utica Mayor Slams Education Secretary For Cuts To Special Olympics

Former Utica Mayor Dave Roefaro is not happy with Education Secretary Betsy DeVos.

DeVos made an $18 Million federal cut to defund the Special Olympics Wedneday at the Department of Education.

Roefaro said, "It’s a downright shame to see that Education Secretary Betsy DeVos is once again taking a hacksaw to a program that has given people with special needs the chance to shine."

Roefaro has hosted the New York Special Olympics in the past and has met with athletes, advocates and others who are doing everything they can to show the world that a disability does not prevent one from living a full life.
