Fort Drum Soldier Identified As Man Struck, Killed By Train
PAMELIA, N.Y. (AP) — A staff sergeant at Fort Drum has been identified as the person who was struck and killed by a train in northern New York over the weekend.
Investigators said Monday that 35-year-old Joshua Thomas of Evans Mills was walking on the Route 37 railroad overpass in the Jefferson County town of Pamelia (puh-MEEL'-yuh) when he was struck around 2:45 a.m. Saturday.
Thomas was pronounced dead at the scene.
The incident remains under investigation but investigators say Thomas' death is considered accidental.
