Here's something you've probably never seen at a baseball game before.

The game was played in Altoona, PA, between the Altoona Curve and the Erie SeaWolves.

Fox6Now television reports:

On Sunday, July 7th, Erie SeaWolves’ third baseman, Brandon Douglas, fouled a ball off directly into a cup holder at Peoples Natural Gas Field, home of the Altoona Curve.

Take a look.

And, an interesting note for central New York sports fans, when I went to the Erie SeaWolves website - a Double-A affiliate of the Detroit Tigers, the first thing I saw was 'Meet Andy Van Slyke Night'.

It's happening this Thursday night July, 11, 2013.

Van Slyke was born in Utica and played baseball at New Hartford High School.

He spent more than 10 years in the big leagues, playing for the St. Louis Cardinals, Pittsburgh Pirates, Baltimore Orioles and Philadelphia Phillies.

So why, do a meet and greet at a Tigers minor league game? He more recently spent some time as Detroit's first base coach.
