Residents in rural areas of the Southern Tier will have a better chance of getting their hands on books to read.

After many months without a Bookmobile, the 4 County Library System has launched its new 33 foot vehicle built by Medical Coaches in Oneonta with a collection of about three-thousand books.

The Bookmobile makes regular visits to many sites in Otsego Count as well as monthly stops in Windsor and the Town of Maine.

Operating costs of the program are covered by the New York State Coordinated Outreach Program and the governments of Broome, Otsego and Delaware Counties.
