Four people escaped serious injury when the car they were in rolled over and caught fire on West Ava Road in Ava.

The Oneida County Sheriff's Office says the driver of the vehicle said she swerved to avoid horse manure in the road and lost control of her car. The vehicle left the road and struck some trees.

Other motorists helped the four occupants get out of the car as it was beginning to catch fire. The driver and two of her passengers were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.  Another passenger was not injured.

The accident remains under investigation and no tickets have been issued at this time.
