Four Face Charges After Attempting To Steal From Herkimer Wal-Mart

Herkimer, NY (WIBX) - Two local couples are facing charges after attempting to steal merchandise from the Herkimer Walmart.

According to Herkimer Police, the couples, Annamae Leonard and Nicholas Leddick of Sauquiot and Becky Skaine and Jeremy Austin of Utica, filled a shopping cart with clothing and other merchandise from the store, valued at more than $500.

They then attempted to exit the store through the Garden Center before they were confronted by Loss Prevention Services.

The two couples were asked to return to the store where Herkimer Police responded and took the four into custody.  They were charged with Petit Larceny and released on appearance tickets.
