Four Killed, Homes Collapse In Madison County

SMITHFIELD, N.Y. (AP) — Four people are dead and several homes collapsed in yesterday evening's storms that blew through central New York. Madison County's sheriff says at least four homes were completely destroyed in Smithfield and others are damaged. The National Weather Service is sending experts to the town to determine whether Smithfield was hit by a tornado.
