Utica, NY (WIBX) - Four teens are in police custody after trying to rob a Utica man.

Shortly before 11:00pm last night a man was walking on Lincoln Avenue when he became worried about four men who appeared to be following him. After allegedly hearing them say that two would hold him down while the others robbed him, he started to run away, making it to his house.

The men followed him, pounding on his door while throwing garbage at it. The man was able to give police detailed descriptions of all four.

Police found them on bikes at Varick Street and Sunset.

The following were arrested and charged with Attempted Robbery in the Third Degree:

  • Lyndell Lester (age 17) of Cherry Street in Utica
  • Laronn Linen (age 17) of Elm Street in Utica
  • Jahmar Jackson (age 16) of Maple Street in Utica
  • Williams Monroe (age 19) of Capital Avenue in Utica
