A traffic stop in Whitesboro has led to arrest of a fugitive from Ohio.

State Police pulled over 44-year old Dominick Gianconna for using his cell phone while driving.

Troopers learned that Gianconna was wanted in Ohio for several violent felony offenses.

Police say Gianconna fled the scene in his vehicle and was taken into custody on Main Street in New York Mills following a short vehicle and foot pursuit.

Gianconna was charged with Fleeing a Police Officer, resisting arrest, Endangering the welfare of a child, being a  Fugitive of Justice and several Vehicle and Traffic Violations.

He's being held in the Oneida County Jail pending extradition to Ohio.
