A state aide who is believed to have been fatally caught in the crossfire between two rival gangs in Brooklyn will be laid to rest today.

Services will be held today for Carey Gabay, an attorney working in Governor Andrew Cuomo's administration since 2011, at the Emmanuel Baptist Church in Clinton Hill at 8:30 this morning, September 26, 2015.  Attendance at the funeral is by invitation only.

Governor Cuomo will deliver the eulogy.  Gabay, who was hospitalized after being shot in the head on Labor Day just prior to the West Indian Day Parade, died last week from his injuries.

Gabay, who was 43-years-old, was the son of Jamaican immigrants.  He grew up in the Bronx and earned his law degree from Harvard Law School.

His wife is pregnant with the couple's first child.
