Gas prices are falling despite the unrest in the Middle East and Ukraine.

Ed Welsh of AAA Central New York says the average national price has now gone down 25 days in a row.

Welsh says the main reason for the drop is strong refinery production.

The average price in the Utica-Rome market is $3.82 a gallon, which is five cents lower than it was a year ago at this time.

Welsh says he expects prices to continue to slowly fall over the next month.

The average national price is $3.56 a gallon, the lowest it's been since April.
