Marcy, NY - The latest Gallup poll shows that 85 percent of people surveyed say they want "immediate" action by the government to keep gas prices from going up any more.

Almost 70-percent think that the President and Congress have the power to control the price of gas.

AAA's Ed Welsh agrees, and explains that the price of gas relies heavily on speculation about the economy, not on the amount of oil available.

Welsh said he expects gas prices to peak in April or May this year.  Right now gas in the Utica-Rome area is averaging $3.97 a gallon.
