All over the world children are busy getting their Christmas lists together and ready to send off to Santa Claus at the North Pole. How amazing would it be to get a letter back from Santa?

While this is Santa's busiest time of the year, we have a way for you to make sure your child gets a special Holiday surprise.

The United States Postal Service has some of Santa’s helpers standing by at its Anchorage post office, ready to return letters to kids complete with a “NORTH POLE” postmark.

Here's what you can do:

Help your child or children write their letters to Santa and address them simply, "Santa Claus, The North Pole"

Then, secretly write a response to your child from Santa on the back of his/her letter.

Make the letter as personal as possible by including some of the things they have done to get on the 'nice list' or anything else you think would excite them.

Finally, put the letter (with 'Santa's' response on the back) into a self addressed, stamped envelope with 'SANTA CLAUS, THE NORTH POLE' as the return address.

Now just send that in a new envelope to:

North Pole Postmark

4141 Postmark Drive
Anchorage, AK 99530-9998

The USPS says letters must be received by the 'Elves' at the North Pole no later than December 15 so the Elves have time to send 'Santa's' response.
