Longtime New York Giants defensive end Michael Strahan is one of 27 semifinalists for the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio.

Strahan holds the single season record for sacks, 22.5, and amassed a career total of 141.5, good for fifth on the all-time list.

Over the course of his 15-years in the league - all with the Giants - No. 92 made the Pro-Bowl seven times, and was a four-time First Team All-Pro.

The other first time candidates announced Friday are Morten Anderson, John Lynch, Warren Sapp, Jonathan Ogden and Larry Allen.
