The San Francisco Giants battered Matt Harvey for nine hits and seven earned runs on Wednesday en route to an 8-5 win as the defending World Series champions have taken the first two of three from the Mets at Citi Field.

Harvey was touched up for three more home runs including two in San Francisco's five-run sixth-inning. After starting the year a 5-0 Harvey is just 1-4 in his last seven starts.

Buster Posey drove in three runs, while Joe Panik, Brandon Belt and Justin Maxwell all went deep. Tim Hudson gave up four runs in five innings of work but got the win to move to 4-5.

Curtis Granderson, Juan Lagares and Wilmer Flores each had two hits to pace the Mets' offense. New York has lost six of its last eight games and will look avoid a sweep in the series finale on Thursday night.

On a positive note, the Mets got catcher Travis d'Arnaud back from the disabled list (broken finger) on Wednesday. He went 1-4 at the plate with a double and two runs scored.
