Senator Kristen Gillibrand and Congressman Richard Hanna were in the Village of Mohawk today to see first-hand the damage caused by Fridays record flooding.

After a short drive through the few passable roads in Mohawk, Gillibrand and Hanna took to the still mud-covered streets to speak individually with first responders and affected residents.

Gillibrand urged residents to catalog their damage and submit a F.E.M.A. claim as soon as possible. She added that if anyone is having problems submitting claims, they can call her office for help with red tape.

Hanna added that he believes with the total damage suffered throughout Central New York, FEMA. will make it here to help.
