Gloversville Man Arrested for Alleged Heroin Possession After Traffic Stop
Utica Police say they arrested a Gloversville man after he was unable to answer basic questions during a traffic stop.
A police sergeant was patrolling near Francis Street and Oswego Street at approximately 4:45pm on Wednesday, April 8, 2015 when he says he stopped the vehicle driven by 28-year-old Ryan Baron of Gloversville.
In a written post the UPD says Sgt. Faniglula became suspicious when Baron appeared nervous and did not respond well to questions.
Baron then admitted to having a hypodermic needle in his possession with no apparent medical condition. The officer then allegedly found a package containing heroin.
Baron was charged with two traffic violations, possession of a hypodermic instrument, and criminal possession of a controlled substance. Both of the latter charges are misdemeanors.
