GANSEVOORT, N.Y. (AP) — Gov. Andrew Cuomo says an upstate New York state park is getting 131 additional acres.

The Democratic governor's office says the new parcel will expand Moreau Lake State Park's trail network and provide access to scenic views. The Times Union reports the new parcel includes summits, including Palmertown Mountain, with views of the Hudson Valley and southern Adirondacks — and brings the park's total acreage to 6,100.

The state Office of Parks Recreation and Historic Preservation says it plans to create a new trailhead to provide access to the new land parcel.

Moreau Lake State Park was only 700 acres large when it was first established in 1968, and has grown substantially since then.
